“The clubs growth since the commencement in 2003 in Boston Ma .is overwhelming to me, knowing that 7 years ago this was just a thought and it has now flourished into a great family of diverse women who share the same passion as i do”. I” am extremely proud to have brought together such a great network of ladies who want to feel the independence associated with the desire to ride their own.”
East Coast Biker Chicks was founded by Lucky Belcamino. She has been riding for 25 years and currently rides a 2002 Harley Davidson FXDL Custom. Her brainstorm was initiated by friends who coerced her into organizing a female club after riding with another local club in some parades and charity events. “There were about 8 of us close friends who rode all the time and we all thought it would be fun to get some t shirts printed to start our own little gang, it was a joke at first. Well I decided to take on the task as i had just got out of a long term relationship and had alot of time on my hands. With that said i went a little further than just getting some t shirts printed and thus THE EAST COAST BIKER CHICKS were hatched. I spent hours on a $20.00 dollar software program called WEBEASY and started to build a website after securing the domain name. I said next i need to get the word out so i started contacting local media , radio stations and print news and the word took off. The first year we had a total of 36 members. Currently going into our 7th year ECBC has had over 150 past and present members in all of our member states. Now with the branching out into other chapters there is not telling how far this will go. I think its a great way to meet other women who share the passion of riding and also want to make great friends along the way. ECBC has been in the news throughout the years in local and nationwide coverage such as magazines, newspapers, radio stations, and now appearances on Television with one of the members being made over on TLC’s award winning makeover show WHAT NOT TO WEAR.(Annie Marie Concemi was nominated by Lucky) airing date was March 2010. Lucky will also be featured in a book called “Biker Chicks Of North America” along with Cris Sommer Simmons, Sasha Mullins, Pepper Massey, Gevin Fax, and Mandy Rossmeyer, daughter of the late Bruce Rossmeyer(owner-operater of numerous Harley dealerships across the country)being penned by Wil DeClerq and Edward Winterhalder. Release date is probable for Fall 2010
